Keahiakawelo– ka lama o Lāna‘i
Programs are currently being offered in our interim facility, a total area of about 800 square feet for exhibits, curation and office facilities. We are now in the process of planning a new facility of around 5,000 square feet, which will allow us to house and care for collections representative of the diverse populations and history of Lana‘i, and to offer interpretive/educational programs to all who reside on or visit Lana‘i. Our goal is to provide long-time island families, youth, new residents, visitors, business interests and all interested parties with an opportunity to experience the history of Lana‘i; and to foster a sense of place and cultural attachment to Lana‘i’s unique cultural and natural landscapes. In so doing, we will foster a community environment that will cherish and perpetuate the heritage of Lana‘i and its people. The Lana‘i Culture & Heritage Center is a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Donations to helping make this community vision a reality are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. |
