Tempest Filmed on Lanai
In late 2008, Kepa Maly of the Lanai Culture & Heritage Center worked with Castle & Cooke, Julie Taymor and her crew to identify areas on Lanai that could serve as the back drop for filming William Shakespeare’s, “The Tempest.”
We worked to try and ensure that filming created minimal impacts on Lanai’s cultural and natural landscape. It was quite an experience, and at times challenging, but the magnificent imagery of Lanai will be seen around the world as a result.

The film is being set to premier in September and October at international film festivals, with a planned general release near the end of 2010.
