Artist Mike Carroll writes: This house is on the corner on Lanai Ave. and 9th Street, and is one of my favorites on the Island. I love simple, honest lines of the house and the way the single palm tree has a backdrop of towering Cook Pines. To me, this scene is a perfect example of what makes Lanai "Lanai." Silent Auction Item No. 23. " KUAHUA/KAIOLOHIA — SHIPWRECK, LANAI." A 25" x 30" canvas photo-art print. Photographed and donated by Pierce Myers, photographer. The rugged windward coast of Lanai has lured many ships to their doom over the years. In this photograph, Pierce Myers captured a beautiful day with the derelict Navy Fuel Barge, YOGN 42, wrecked in the mid 1950s on the reef, and the island of Molokai in the background.
