Royal Patent Grants Issued on the Island of Lanai

As the Mahele Aina was underway the King and his Ministers recognized that many native tennants were unable to receive adequate lands upon which to live. To address this problem the Kingdom granted individuals (both natives and foreigners) the right to apply for fee-simple lands which were a part of the Government inventory. As a result, various parcels of land were conveyed to applicants, who were in turn issued Royal Patents on Grant Lands.

The links below provide readers with a summary of the Royal Patent Grant program, applications for land on Lanai, and the surveys for the 13 Royal Patents that were issued on Lanai.
